Good location and, weather permitting a nice roof bar/sittng area. Breakfast was good but it would have been nice if a simple supper menu was available.Internett access variable..
The reception area/lobby was a disappointment. The area did not seem inviting or comfortable to spend time in. More comfortable furniture and a rethink of the decorations would be advantageous.
We really liked staying at the Hotel San Francesco. The room was comfortable and quiet. The breakfast buffet was fantastic - just as it looks in the the online pictures. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I especially want to thank Valentina for getting my broken purse fixed. She made the extra effort to take it to a repair person she knew and brought it back to me the next day. And Mossimo had great recommendations for restaurants. We liked staying in the Trestevere area and feel like we were able to have a more local Rome experience than had we stayed on the other side of the river.
The room was hot and some of the desk staff insisted the air conditioner was working while on another day, the staff acknowledged it was broken and needed attending to. Also, the staff was not overly friendly to an obvious newcomer to the area and did not seem knowledgeable in helping a non-Italian speaking tourist with basic information and even provided inaccurate information and directions.
The rooftop terrace was just perfect for the evening Prosecco .The breakfast was excellent and the position perfect.
Massimo and Valentina at reception where helpful and wonderful. This is my second year at this hotel and I will stay there again, it feels like home.
Front desk service was very polite, helpuful and spoke sufficient English. Free computer / internet in lobby area was key. Complimentary breakfast was nice. Lobby is attractive with a beautiful grand piano in it. Calling for a cab never took more than five minutes. The location is a very easy walk to most of the main tourist sites. There is a store (Carefour) just a minute's walk from the hotel that has groceries, personal care items, and wine. Our bathroom had a foot bath which we used every day!!
Currently (Summer 2011) there is a huge construction project right across the street from the hotel - hammering started at 7:15 am each weekday and was very loud. I regret that I did not ask for an adjustment on my bill given the disruptive nature of this aspect of the stay. The noise made getting over jet lag very difficult and impacted our vacation in a negative way. The room was quite small, but the beds were comfy.
The area was nice and close to restaurants and bars in the Trastevere area which was one of the better areas to stay in.
Room was a bit small, but ok as not much time spent in room.
The friendly services. The closeness of the main Rome Attractions.
The room was very small.
The very kind and helpful staff. The rooftop garden available in April was also delightful.
Some of the guests were quite noisy.
Good copious breakfast buffet. Good bedroom and bathroom size
Bread could have been more fresh at breakfast.
Hotel is clean, we had a great big and comfortable bed, wireless included in the price. Good location if you would like to visit Trastevere with its lovely nightlife, bars and typical roman restaurants. We booked through internet and had a good price, I would definitely reccomend this hotel.
Fair choice of restaurants in the area.
Quite a long walk from most of the main historic sights of Rome.
Location is perfect, nice room with big bathroom and good breakfast!!! The staff is very friendly and it's a quite peaceful place even though it's close to the main Trastevere avenue!!!
The wifi internet connection sometimes was not working but that was only for a short time so it wasn't important!
Close to a couple of nice clubs for live music.
For the price ($129 euros a night) I was not happy with this hotel. The room was super tiny, and the bed was short, although not really uncomfortable. The breakfast room was too small for all the guests and the staff didn't even try to help us get a table. It felt very unwelcoming. Staff were just ok, not terribly friendly in general. The may they give you is kind of useless because the area where the hotel is located on the map is underneath an ad. So you can't really see the roads near the hotel.
Good beds. Central location.
The wi-fi Internet didn't work at the room. Some traffic noise from the street.
